Fred continues to build on his thirty-five years of experience as one of the region’s first therapists specializing in serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning people. He provides skilled, nurturing counseling services to the whole continuum of clients who seek his help.

Qualifying Experience

Fred’s work with LGBTQ clients includes:
  • Practicing as a clinical social work therapist since 1972
  • Past Member of the Board of Directors for Louisville Youth Group
  • The first therapist and social worker at Glade House, Louisville’s first residence for persons living with AIDS
  • Originator and facilitator of the first HIV Support Group in Kentucky which met for more than 10 years
  • AIDS activist and educator
  • Author of numerous published articles on gay spirituality and relationships, as well as gay love stories and poetry
  • Feature writer of The Letter newspaper’s monthly mental health column, Your Peace of Mind.
